I personally don’t feel like it is a proper Sunday lunch unless I’m tripping over a dog or two (including my own) so we have included this info as well. Most venues get mega busy on a Sunday so don’t forget to book!

Located in the heart of Sheffield, a short walk from the train station, Silversmiths offers a stylish setting for a traditional Sunday roast. Their menu includes options like honey roast ham, harissa celeriac, and a three-meat roast dinner. Don't miss their classic sticky toffee pudding with black sesame ice cream for dessert!

2. The Broadfield

452 Abbeydale Road, Sheffield, S7 1FR

This pub in Nether Edge is praised for its friendly service, famous pies and sausages and good range of local ales on the bar. They also serve an excellent Sunday roast sourcing ingredients locally, they are all served with a Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, braised red cabbage, shredded shredded sprouts, cauliflower cheese and a bone marrow gravy.

3. The Chop Shop Bar & Grill

Nestled in the heart of Kelham Island, The Chop Shop is a meat lover's paradise, offering a variety of chargrilled meats and BBQ dishes. Their Sunday roast is a must-try, featuring locally sourced meats such as Barnsley Chop and Rotisserie Chicken, this heart Sunday lunch includes all the trimmings which are smothered in a Hendo’s Gravy. Add-on their sensational Bailey’s Cheesecake for £5.50. It would be rude not to.

4. The Rising Sun

Located in Fulwood, The Rising Sun is an employee owned community pub and dining room operated by Abbeydale Brewery. Expect a full range of their fantastic beers on cask and keg. Arguably one of the best pubs in Sheffield (in my opinion) they offer a creative, seasonal food menu that showcases the best of British produce. Their Sunday roasts are extremely popular, so you need to book well in advance. You can eat in the welcoming bar area or sit in the dining room for a more formal experience.

🐶Dogs are welcomed and encouraged! But let them know when you book as they keep the dining room dog-free.

5. Konjo

Enjoy a 3-course Asian-themed Sunday Lunch at Konjo.

A Cutlery Works favourite, Konjo are now in their new home in Krinkl on Shalesmoor (former Joro site). There is a lot of excitement about their new menu (for good reason) and their ‘Sunday Sessions’ look like a great option for a lazy Sunday lunch. They offer a sublime Asian-themed 3-course set menu for £30 which includes dishes like Salt Aged Yorkshire Beef Rump Cap and Seasonal Greens and Crispy Duck Stuffed Yorkshire Pud. The Yuzu Meringue Pie is worth the visit alone. This one is not to be missed.

Situated in Woodseats, relative newcomer Herd is situated in a creatively reimagined former engineering works and is decked out in eye-catching salvaged curisoities. Enjoy a highly praised Sunday roasts in this relaxed neighbourhood bar. They keep it simple offering a couple of meat choices, a veggie and a vegan. They say walk-ins are fine so a good choice if you are looking to find something late in the day.

7. The Lescar

303 Sharrow Vale Road, Sheffield, S11 8ZF

Nestled amongst the numerous quality food and drink establishments on Sharrow Vale Road, charming pub The Lescar describes itself as reassuringly old-fashioned with a bohemian edge. Another popular one, their Sunday menu offers a great sharer option which includes aged beef sirloin, roast chicken, lamb rump with pigs in blankets, bacon & chestnut stuffing, red wine sauce alongside Yorkshire Puddings and all the trimmings. Sounds amazeballs but not for the faint-hearted!

9. Thyme Café

Sheffield Institution Thyme Café is located in Broomhill - a local neighbourhood eatery known for its delicious, freshly prepared food in a bistro-like atmosphere. Their Sunday roasts are legendary, featuring a full range of meat and veggie options as well as the Thyme Café Four Meat Roast. They offer suggestions for wine pairings too which is a nice touch.

Located on the outskirts of Sheffield in a pretty rural location overlooking Blackamoor is The Cricket Inn Totley. With roaring fires and flagstone floors, its the perfect place for cosy Sunday Lunch. Being a Thornbridge pub, the beer selection on cask and keg is second to none. The Sunday menu changes with the seasons but expect a well-executed dishes including Pork from local suppliers Moss Valley. There are some super local walks if you want to work up an appetite beforehand.

11. The Devonshire Arms, Middle Handley

Another beaut in the semi-rural village of Middle Handley on the outskirts of the city, is The Devonshire Arms at Middle Handley. They have just made it into the Good Food Guide 2025 and with good reason - this highly rated local serves huge portions of the most excellent food. The Sunday lunch menu is pretty extensive, offering a roast platter for two and indecisive types a mix of meats. They also have rooms if you fancy making it into a mini-break.

12. The Peacock at Barlow

Situated in the picturesque village of Barlow, The Peacock offers a warm welcome and a delicious Sunday roast. This place is busy, but they don’t take bookings (we have never even waited for a table, and we have been many times). They have a lovely roaring fire in the taproom area in winter and expansive views across Derbyshire from the dining room and large outside terrace. Consistently good food, they also brew their own award-winning real ale at The Collyfobble Brewery which is located alongside their lovely accommodation - another good option if you fancy a walk and a few beers without having the problem of who is driving home.

13. The Old Horns Inn

Situated in High Bradfield, The Old Horns Inn is a stunning country pub with beautiful views over the valley. Their hearty Sunday carvery offers a variety of meats and home-cooked sides. This is the place if you are looking for a good. feed, so it’s a popular choice for Sunday lunch and you will need to book well in advance. There is a lovely beer garden with fab views.

With stunning walks on the doorstep and luxurious rooms to relax, The Maynard is a fab option if you are looking for a get-away, just a short drive from Sheffield city centre.

🐶 George, the resident Blue Roan Cocker Spaniel is the celebrity of The Maynard is quick to welcome other four-legged friends into their bar area, ensuring they're treated to biscuits and bowls of water – so long as they are very well-behaved!
